Got reminded on Saturday to write the only things relevant to making my living these days. Packed up old clothes to give away on Sunday morning. Slept Sunday afternoon because freshly bitten by mozzies again, itched all over (defensive unconsciousness, anyone?). Spent Monday writing. Monday night advising G about stuff. Tuesday was buying shoes for my Mum, with her, then met C, and later three of us C with her friend B. Got high on liquid chocolate. Thankfully didn't proposition anybody while high/drunk. G reported back with happy news. Today spent writing. And that's my boring life for the week.

This week I have not been bitten by any mozzies. This is a miracle. Thank you God.

I will spend tomorrow writing. Friday going out with C (again! yes! she wants to meet JK), and probably writing some more. Write write.

Let's see.....

I went out with an old friend on Sunday, and that helped to relieve stress too =) since I complained to him about the lipgloss problem and he gratifyingly said something funny and complimentary, the exact words of which I do not remember now. And we both laughed.

Last Friday I went out shopping with my sis, bought work pants and a black formal dress, and managed to resist buying any number of beautiful casual tops. Considered buying a black translucent blouse.

Last Saturday, I hung out at Borders looking for something to use my 30% discount coupon on, but didn't find anything worth buying. Browsed extensively. Met N to buy Stila lipgloss and ended up walking through Scotts and Taka. Considered getting the tinted lip balm too, but way too frivolously expensive, though beautiful. =) Saw the orange butterfly top at Phuture London in Taka.

On Sunday, I went out with yandao. Airport - the T2 hor fun stall's chilli sauce has lots of hae bee and is not hot. yum. Kopi at Pacific Coffee Company - where we talked a lot, too much, much too much =p Spontaneously took an eternally long bus ride (36) to Orchard, of all places for a Sunday afternoon. because we're nuts. And for the very first time ever, went shopping with him in town. He is amazingly fun to go shopping with - knows what he wants and likes, but can be cajoled into trying new styles (with the time-tested method of "yandao, not many guys can wear this style, you'll look very hot!"). Similarly, whenever I protested that only skinny girls could wear (particular piece of clothing), he gave me this eye-rolling look and pushed me into trying them all. =) which is how I ended up wearing the blue version of the orange butterfly top at Phuture London. I think he liked it a lot because he was unusually speechless about it until we were walking away from the shop, whereupon he said, "I think it's nice. You should buy it." period.

And that was the sexy top I was wondering last night whether to buy.

Mm, yesterday morning, I drove my sis to the airport in the early morning and promptly slept for the entire -day- after that. And a fair bit of the night too.

This morning I woke, finally read all the past few days' news, and spent the afternoon accompanying my grandma to the hairdresser.

Nearly a week. All gone.

Tagged by N. The things I do for friends, hai.

"Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs."

Enjoying, and lowering stress/blood pressure/anxiety, are not the same.....

Things I enjoy:

1. Getting out of the heat.
2. Getting into a windy place where no mosquitoes can harass me. This is kinda important when I'm getting two bites per day and my idiotic father tells me ever so patronizingly, "don't scratch! it's bad for your healing!"
3. Drinking one can of Coke per day.
4. Talking to friends and lite-enemies.
5. Shopping.

Things that reduce anxiety:

1. Beginning new projects that are worthwhile.
2. Improving on projects that have already been begun.
3. Uninterrupted silence when I'm reading, for God's sake. Just because I hold the book and pen without flipping the page frequently enough for your taste, doesn't mean I'm sleeping with my eyes open.
4. Walking. Continuous regularly-paced walking. Continuous regularly-paced walking without my idiotic dad asking, "so what are you thinking about?"
5. Ignoring other people's opinions from time to time.

I am clearly not happy today.

One of those paragraphs, phrases, that leap out from their surrounding babble to mean much more than the writer originally intended:

..... It seems absurd to be talking in a concrete manner about objects that are not only too tiny to see in practice but too tiny to see in principle. Things that cannot be seen acquire an aura of fantasy, as though they are just a convenient fiction.

Family chaffeuring these past few days.

Sensitization-desensitization cycles occur more often and with less reliability in times of uncertainty and stress.

All else well. for the moment.

It's a funny thing, I'd forgotten what your voice sounded like, and how young you really are.

=) Only upon hearing you do I remember, and thence my patience inexhaustible today, and for quite a while more henceforth.

All right, so I'm going crazy here, and that's why I ain't written for this long.

It's the lip colour selection that's killing me. Ghostly pale skin (thanks to 2 yrs of lab, nearly uninterrupted by sunlight) does not appear to go well with any colour except my natural lip colour.

And this is a ridiculous thing to obsess over in the normal course of daily living. :p Recent events however do not resemble normal life very much, probably because I have been hibernating at home trying not to get eaten alive by mosquitoes in this heat, and, I am still writing my CV. It's now a 5-page combined work/acad monster, but that's all right, since I don't plan to add much to it for individualisation later.

Maybe I should buy high-shine transparent lip gloss and forget about colour/texture matching with every other bit of makeup that ladies at work are supposed to wear.
